About Me

"To him, all good things - trout as well as eternal salvation - came by grace;
and grace comes by art; and art does not come easy." - Norm Mclean

Hello, my name is Dan Westfall. First and foremost, I am a family man. I must confess that I am infinitely blessed in that area of my life.

My day, and often night job, is a Manager of Operating Practices with the Union Pacific Railroad. It's a good job, and I'm thankful for how it provides for my family. I work weird hours, on call a lot. However, I've never been one to sit around with idle hands. So on the days when I'm not tending to the rails, I'm in my woodshop.

It didn't take long for me to become completely enamored with woodworking - furniture making, in particular.

Over the years I have furnished our home and outfitted my shop into a cozy place to work. Along the way I've become a fairly skilled furniture and cabinet maker. With reverence for the craft, I have trained myself to use the finest methods of furniture joinery and finishing. It truly has been one of most rewarding journey's of my life....and I still feel like I'm just getting started.

Thanks for checking out my site. The blogs, pictures, and ramblings herein are merely my attempt to share the craft and my journey.
